When downloading the grade roster to excel (xlsx), the roster grade column is ineligible

When the lecturer clicks on the "Download to Excel" icon, it downloads but the Roster Grade column is ineligible - "ᔦ"

PROD environment downloads to xlsx file format.

DEV environment downloads to xls file format and the Roster Grade column is fine

  1. Why is the Roster Grade ineligible
  2. Why does it download to xlsx on PROD but xls on DEV. Where is this configured?
