Savings Plan Setups
We are evaluating savings plan setups per PeopleSoft best practices and have outlined the following approaches with questions. Thoughts?
Objective #1: provide after-tax option on regular 401k instead of separate ‘ROTH’ benefit plan for Roth
- On existing ‘40’ plan type for regular 401k plan, add after-tax deduction class
- Move employees from separate ‘ROTH’ plan into regular 401k plan
- No deleting rows, just make ‘ROTH’ ineligible on Ben Program Table effective at start of new year
- No benefits termination row needed for ‘ROTH’ as it stays within plan_type ‘40’; instead insert row to convert to regular 401k after-tax election
