Migration and Upgrade Using data guard

Dear Experts,

We have ODA x8-M and it has a container database with 2 pluggable databases. In the destination, we have x10-HA with 2 node RAC.

ODA x8-M has 19.6 version of ODA,GRID, and database. ODAx10-HA has 19.26.

We are planning to upgrade ODA x8-M from version 19.6 to 19.26.

As a temporary measure we want to replicate the 19.6 database to ODAx10-HA has 19.26 using data guard.

Would it be a viable way and after replicating we want to open the database, if required.

How to achieve this. Could you provide high level steps for this.
