FDMEE and Reports Access Issues Following Server Restart – Analysis of Additional HFM Java Service

in Hyperion EPM General (MOSC) Question

Recently, the VM servers were migrated from Microsoft to AWS EC2 using a lift-and-shift approach. As part of the post-migration troubleshooting activities to restore the application, we reviewed the EPM Configurator settings across all Windows application servers and started the required services using the standard startup scripts. All services came up successfully.

Subsequently, business users reported issues accessing FDMEE and Reports. During the investigation, we observed that while one HFM-related Java service was part of the standard startup script and was running as expected, an additional Java service was also present on two application servers. This second service was not included in the startup script and its existence was unexpected.
