WebLogic 12.2.1.4 - Apostrophe in Username Authentication Issue

Hi everyone,

We're using Oracle WebLogic Server 12.2.1.4 with the DefaultAuthenticator and have found that users whose usernames contain an apostrophe (e.g., timothy.o'brien) are unable to authenticate.

Is this a known limitation of the DefaultAuthenticator? Has anyone found a supported workaround or configuration that allows authentication with usernames containing apostrophes, particularly when integrating with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)?

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
