How to change New Position Approval Pushback Notification from Alert to Action

We have the New Position Approval Workflow setup with Pushback as an Approval Event. We would like to change the InApp Notification from an Alert type Notification to an Action Type Notification.
There doesn't appear to be configuration to influence the In App Notification Type from an Alert to a Action Type Notification. Perhaps the Notification Type for the New Position Approval Notification Type is embedded in an Application Package ???
Any Help would be greatly appreciated…
