RMAN Backup Performance Degradation to NFS (Pure Storage) After July 2026 PSU/RU on Oracle 19cHi Te

Hi Team,

We are observing a significant RMAN backup performance degradation when writing backup pieces to NFS storage hosted on Pure Storage after applying the July 2026 PSU/RU on Oracle 19c.

Environment

  • Oracle Database: 19c
  • Storage: Pure Storage (NFS-mounted backup destination)
  • Backup Tool: RMAN
  • Issue noticed immediately after applying the July 2026 PSU/RU

Observations

  • RMAN backups that were previously completing within the expected backup window are now taking considerably longer.
  • The slowdown appears to be associated with writes to the NFS backup location.
  • No intentional changes were made to RMAN configuration, channel allocation, or storage configuration apart from the database patching activity.
