Why is Minnesota Taxable wage for PFML reduced by pretax?

MN SUI wages are not reduced. It is our understanding they are to match.

Oracle is reducing taxable wage for PFML by many pretax deductions. Their MN PFML website says to calculate PFML rate by multiplying total payroll by the .88% premium rate. We have a voicemail from them that wages are not reduced and its based on the same wages that unemployment uses.  This example shows the EE portion having the reduced wage. This shows reduced wage * .44% to get the 6.75 we think it should be 1769.60 * .44% so 7.79
