Practical Use Cases of Oracle AI for SQL Optimization and Tuning

Hi Team,

I would like to understand the practical application of AI in Oracle Database performance tuning and SQL optimization.

Traditionally, Oracle Database has provided several automated performance management features, including:

Automatic Indexing
SQL Tuning Advisor
SQL Plan Management (SPM)
Automatic Statistics Gathering

These capabilities already help identify performance issues and recommend or implement optimizations.

My questions are:

What additional value does Oracle AI bring to SQL optimization beyond these existing features?
What components, licenses, or infrastructure are required to leverage AI-driven tuning capabilities?
Is an Oracle Database 23ai/26ai environment sufficient, or are additional services or other cloud components required?
