Ability to install quarterly patches with the system valid until Apr2026

Hello.

The post is about Oracle GI (Oracle Restart Standalone Server) + DB version 19.31.0.0 on Linux OL 9.8 platform


Until the April 2026 cumulative patchset, there was the option to install the same patchset for both Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Database by downloading the GIRU version. Is it still possible?
I read the notes in the installation README and a second Oracle Home structure (or Grid Infrastructure Home) is planned which, in addition to effectively taking up twice the space in the file system, obviously does not carry with it the contents of the original OH configuration files (e.g. the TNS_ADMIN). Is there no way to install the patch using the old method?
