Clarification on Common Name (CN) Requirements for Siebel AI and SES TLS Certificates

in Siebel Operators: Administration, Installation, Updates (MOSC) Question

We understand that Siebel uses mutual TLS and client-certificate authentication for certain internal service communications. We would like to confirm the correct certificate identities before requesting new certificates from our company's Certificate Team.

Could you please clarify the following?

  1. For the TLS server certificate installed on Server B (SES), should the Common Name (CN) be the SES server hostname as b.corp..**.com, or should it be the Siebel Gateway Name Server server hostname?
  2. For the TLS client certificate presented by Server A (AI), should the CN be the AI server hostname, a.corp.**.com or the Siebel Gateway Name Server hostname?
