Unable to export Accounts in required format for CSV import

edited Nov 4, 2020 4:37PM in Accounting / ERP 9 comments

The Question:

Is there a way to add an Account Name to an Item Saved Search and/or List View that formats the Account Name in a way that NetSuite accepts during CSV import?

Details:

To import a transaction such as an Inventory Adjustment or Journal Entry, any Accounts being mapped must be formatted as follows:

1110 Parent Account : Child Account

When exporting data from an Item list view that includes Income, COGS and/or Asset Account data, the Accounts are only available as follows:

Child Account

This is a real nuisance when prepping large imports - requiring multiple exports of COA and Item data along with Excel-level comparisons with enough copying and pasting to make one's fingers start to feel sticky.

Howdy, Stranger!
