Inventory KPI

Question about the 'Inventory' KPI

  1. How is this number calculated, or how can one reconcile it? I have it set to 'today', but when I click on the result it sends me to the Inventory valuation summary, which shows a slightly different number
  2. Is there any way to make a custom inventory KPI? Would be great to see this for raw materials and finished goods separately, not to mention for each subsidiary. But it seems one can only make custom KPIs from transaction searches?
