This notice is intended for customers who are using either the NetSuite SuitePeople | Remediate Customize Rel or the SuiteSuccess Add On-Auto Approvals|HR (previously named SuiteSuccess HR | Auto-Approvals) SuiteApp. Some features in the SuiteApps mentioned will be replaced by the Time-Off Tracking (TOT) SuiteApp version 1.10.0 targeted for release on March 16, 2021.
What is Changing?
The update on the Time-off Tracking SuiteApp provides an enhanced and unified experience for managing and requesting time off. The auto-approval threshold validation feature is new and is designed to prevent misuse of automatically approved time-off requests.
For SuitePeople | Remediate Customize Rel users:
The SuitePeople | Remediate Customize Rel SuiteApp is already deprecated. Time-Off Tracking version 1.10.0 will replace the time-off auto approval features of this SuiteApp.
For SuiteSuccess Add On-Auto Approvals|HR users:
After TOT version 1.10.0 is released, you can no longer install SuiteSuccess Add On-Auto Approvals|HR. Time-Off Tracking will replace SuiteSuccess Add On-Auto Approvals|HR, which will be available on March 16, 2021.
Time-Off Tracking (TOT) SuiteApp changes:
The TOT SuiteApp update will match features currently found in SuitePeople | Remediate Customize Rel and SuiteSuccess Add On-Auto Approvals|HR:
- The Time-Off on Behalf Of feature allows HR and supervisors to file time-off requests on behalf of employees.
- The Time-Off Self-Approver feature enables self-approval of requested time offs.
- The Time-Off Auto-Approval with Threshold feature grants the ability to set a time off type that is automatically approved once requested, subject to a threshold.
The following table lists other important changes that will occur with the TOT SuiteApp version 1.10.0 update:
Recommended Actions
We encourage you to transition to the TOT SuiteApp to avoid feature disruption and to get the best time off management user experience.
Before the TOT SuiteApp update, review and update roles to ensure access to the Time-off on Behalf Of feature. Custom (non-supervisory) roles should have the full Time-off Administration permission to access the new features in the update. For more information, see Customizing or Creating NetSuite Roles.
You may have custom code that references or has dependencies on field IDs in the SuitePeople | Remediate Customize Rel or SuiteSuccess Add On-Auto Approvals|HR SuiteApps, replace these with the new field IDs in the TOT SuiteApp.
Finally, an account administrator will need to run a migration script to transfer data from the SuitePeople or SuiteSuccess SuiteApps to the Time-Off Tracking SuiteApp. You will receive an email with script migration instructions after the TOT SuiteApp update is installed on your account.
