Create New PDF from Project Record

I'm attempting to create a PDF via Create New --->PDF and merge data from a Project Record using a PDF template but I'm repeatedly unsuccessful.

I've created multiple PDF templates for a many other record types and we successfully use them regularly. For some reason, the Project record is causing issues. I noticed that on the Template Tag Selector there is no value for PROJECT under Field Type list. This is strange to me since the list contains Custom Record types we've created within our NS environment...but not the Project record type, which I believe is a standard record type.
