October 15, 2022: 3DS Requirements Enforced in EEA and UK 3DS Regulations

This notification is intended for customers who currently operate a NetSuite commerce web store in the European Economic Area (EEA) or in the United Kingdom (UK). Online payment card processing requirements have changed in the EEA and the UK. As a merchant, you are required to comply with these changed requirements.

Important: If you are not in compliance by October 15, 2022, you risk not being able to accept card payments.

What Is Changing

First-generation 3D Secure technologies (3D Secure 1 or 3DS 1.x) are being replaced with newer technologies, referred to as 3D Secure 2 (also known as 3DS 2.x, EMV 3-D Secure, and EMV 3DS). To minimize payment card transaction failures for your Site Builder or SuiteCommerce Advanced web store, you must ensure your web store is using 3D Secure 2 technologies.
