What are the best practices for Go-Live?

I need to know what is NetSuite Best practice of Go Live from Production performing UAT and then refresh on the sandbox or from Sandbox and development to Production ? which approach is the best practice and why ? also if we have any diagram that shows the process.

basically it's the stage before the Data Migration and UAT for open transactions.
