Can I have a user input parameter in a saved search that is not an item field?

I have a search that looks at qty on hand for kitted items, and returns how many kits can be made based on that on hand quantity. The request I have is for the user to be able enter a number of kits (i.e. can I do 50 kits?) and have the search do the math to see if it is feasible. (if the kit has component qty of 2 for item A, do I have 50*2 of component A on hand?) Is this feasible in a saved search?
