Is it possible to unbuild part of an Assembly Build?

Hi

It appears that we are not able to unbuild part of an assembly build. for example, we built 10 units and decided only 6 units are required. so we need to unbuild 4 units. I know we can unbuild with no link to the original assembly build. Please advise how we can unbuild part of the original assembly build and still link to this original assembly build.
