Advanced Bin Management

Hi There

I am a bit confused about when to used advanced bin management and what are the implications are for turning on this feature.

Is it correct this should be used if you have inventory that is serial number or lot tracked?

And regular bin management is suitable for all other inventory types?

If you have one item available in multiple locations (e.g. an assembly component), would this need the advanced bin management feature to be turned on?
