NSC | Standard Cost Not Applied in Negative Inventory Adjustments
Scenario
When performing a negative inventory adjustment in NetSuite, the Estimated Unit Cost (Est. Unit Cost) field may default to the Location Average Cost instead of the Standard Cost, even when the item uses the Standard costing method.
- Item: Item A
- Costing Method: Standard
- Location: Test Location
- Standard Cost: 25.00
- Location Average Cost: 20.00
- Navigate to Transactions > Inventory > Adjust Inventory.
- Set the necessary fields and click Adjustment.
- For Item A, select Location as Test Location and adjust the quantity by -1.
Actual Result: The Est. Unit Cost auto-populates to 20.00 (Location Average Cost) and is grayed out, preventing changes.
Expected Result: The Est. Unit Cost should be 25.00, based on the Standard Cost.
