Scenario:
A user encounters an error when attempting to create or fulfill a Sales Order that includes a specific Manufacturing Charge Item and a Customer from a different subsidiary. The issue arises because the Item and Customer do not belong to the same subsidiary or subsidiary hierarchy, and the "Include Children" checkbox is grayed out for Manufacturing Charge Items. As a result, the system does not allow the item to be added to the transaction.
- The Customer is under a subsidiary that is part of a different hierarchy.
- The Item is a Manufacturing Charge Item, which restricts editing certain fields including the "Include Children" checkbox.
- Since these items cannot span across unrelated subsidiaries, the system blocks the transaction.
- In contrast, other components or non-manufacturing items may allow the "Include Children" option, which prevents the error from occurring in similar use cases.

Solution:
- Ensure that the Customer and the Item belong to the same Subsidiary or fall within the same subsidiary hierarchy. This is the best long-term solution and ensures compatibility without altering the nature of the item.
- Review the subsidiary assignment of both the Customer and the Item.
- If needed, reassign the Item or Customer to a matching or compatible subsidiary.
2. As a workaround you can temporarily disable the Manufacturing Charge setting on the item. However, this changes the item's functionality and
should be used with caution.
Steps:
- Navigate to the Item record and click Edit.
- Go to the Purchasing tab.
- Uncheck the "Manufacturing Charge Item" box.
- Change the Cost Category to a standard one (e.g., "Default Cost Category").
- The "Include Children" checkbox will now be available—check it.
- Click Save.
Note: This is only a workaround. It disables the item's Manufacturing Charge behavior and may not be suitable for long-term use.
