Scenario:
While attempting to save an Assembly Build record in NetSuite, you receive the following error:Please configure the Inventory Detail for Item.
Upon review, it was confirmed that the Use Bins checkbox is enabled for the item, which means inventory transactions involving this item require bin-level tracking. However, the system is not detecting the necessary bin information during the assembly process, preventing the record from being saved.
Solution:
To resolve this error, several areas need to be reviewed and updated to ensure that inventory details—specifically bin assignments—are properly configured.
Steps to Troubleshoot and Resolve:
- Check the Inventory Detail subtab on the Assembly Build:
- Navigate to the Inventory Detail subtab for the affected item.
- Confirm if a Bin is selected.
- If no bins are listed, the system cannot proceed, as bin assignment is mandatory for items with bin tracking enabled.
- Check Related Records – Inventory Adjustment:
- Go to the Related Records subtab of the Assembly Build.
- Look for any related Inventory Adjustment records.
- Open the related Inventory Adjustment and verify if the Inventory Detail icon is visible next to the item.
- Edit the Inventory Adjustment:
- If the Inventory Detail is missing, click Edit on the Inventory Adjustment.
- Navigate to the line item and click the Inventory Detail icon.
- Assign the appropriate Bin and quantity in the detail popup.
- Save the Inventory Adjustment.
- Return to the Assembly Build:
- After updating the Inventory Adjustment, return to the Assembly Build.
- Re-enter or refresh the Inventory Detail if needed.
- Attempt to save the Assembly Build again.
