Customer Part Numbers - Kit/Package Items

Hello NetSuite Community!

I am asking for help on regards of Customer Part Numbers. We need to use them for all types of item, even Kit/Package. We have an EDI integration that necessit to receive, and send the information to our partners. Has anyone been able to work around the NetSuite limitation on this?
