With NetSuite OneWorld, you can view data consolidated from multiple subsidiaries on many reports.
Consolidated reports use the Consolidated Exchange Rates table to translate child subsidiaries' amounts to roll up into consolidated parent subsidiary amounts.
CONSOLIDATED REPORT USING AVERAGE RATE
Scenario:
From Aug to Sep 2025, the Income Account balance appearing on the Consolidated Income Statement report is 1,336,120.80 USD.
COMPUTATION OF AMOUNT: Base Currency Balance multiplied by the applicable Consolidated Exchange Rate
- Base Currency Balance = Balance showing on the subsidiary-level report
- Appliable Consolidated Exchange Rate = Consolidated Exchange Rate Type set on the Account Record > General Rate Type field
- STEP 1: Get the Base Currency Balance:
- I. Identify which subsidiaries have posted transactions to the affected account:
- Open the Consolidated Income Statement report and set footer filters as follows:
- From = Aug 2025
- To = Sep 2025
- Subsidiary Context = (Consolidating Entity/Root Parent being checked; i.e. Parent Holdings Incorporated (Consolidated))
- Column = Subsidiary
- Click Refresh button
From the above steps, we have identified the breakdown of 1,336,120.80 USD:
- ACCO - NEW = 1,330,120.80 USD; AND
- CANADA New Brunswick = 6,000.00 USD
- II. Obtain the subsidiary-level account balance
- Open the Income Statement report and set footer filters as follows:
- From = (Period being checked)
- To = (Period being checked)
- Subsidiary Context = (Individual subsidiaries which have posted transactions to the affected account; i.e. ACCO - NEW, and CANADA New Brunswick)
- Column = Total
- From the above steps, we have identified that subsidiary-level account balances from Aug to Sep 2025 are as follows:
- ACCO - NEW = 1,662,651 KRW; AND
- Composed of one transaction posted in Sep 2025.
- CANADA New Brunswick = 2,000.00 CAD
- Composed of one transaction posted in Aug 2025.
- STEP 2: Identify the Applicable Consolidated Exchange Rate
- Navigate to Lists > Accounting > Accounts
- Click View beside the affected account record (i.e. 199811 PRRO_Income)
- Take note of the General Rate Type
- Navigate to Lists > Accounting > Consolidated Exchange Rates
- Set filters as follows:
- From = (Transaction Subsidiary (i.e. ACCO - NEW, and CANADA New Brunswick)
- To = (Consolidating Entity/Root Parent being checked; i.e. Parent Holdings Incorporated (Consolidated))
- Period = (Transactions' Posting Periods)
- STEP 3. Multiply the Subsidiary-level Account Balance by the Applicable Consolidated Exchange Rate
