The Transaction Saved Search was set up as follows:
- Criteria:
- Internal ID = Internal ID of the Journal Entry
- Account = 1100 Accounts Receivable
- Posting Period = Aug 2025
- Results:
- Date
- Period
- Type

- Consolidated Exchange Rate = Per-Account
The Saved Search returns the following result:
COMPUTATION OF AMOUNT: Amount in GL Impact sub-tab of the transaction (Base Currency) multiplied by the applicable Consolidated Exchange Rate
- Amount in GL Impact = 2,000.00 CAD
- Current Consolidated Exchange Rate for August 2025 = 3.50
- Which gives us the product of 7,000.00 USD
EXPLANATION:
- Applicable Consolidated Exchange Rate = Value set on the Consolidated Exchange Rate field of the Results sub-tab of the Transaction Saved Search.
- Since we have set Per-Account, the system will use the General Rate Type set on the Account record (Current).
- Since there is a posting period filter set on the Criteria of the Transaction Saved Search, the system will use the Current Consolidated Exchange Rate based on the transaction's posting period, which is August 2025.
- For this specific example, setting Consolidated Exchange Rate field (on the Saved Search's Results sub-tab) to Current will result to the same amount simply because the account's General Rate Type = Current.
- Setting a Date filter = August 22, 2025 on the Criteria sub-tab of the Saved Search will result to the same amount.
