New to NetSuite | Transaction Permission > Transfer Order Permission
As part of our ongoing New to NetSuite series, we’ve previously explored the New to NetSuite | Permissions and delved into the New to NetSuite | Permissions > Transaction Subtab.
In this article, we will focus on one specific and powerful permission within this category: Transfer Order
What is a Transfer Order?
A Transfer Order is a transaction type in NetSuite used for internal inventory transfers. Instead of directly adjusting inventory quantities, a transfer order allows you to formally:
- Initiate a stock movement from a source location to a destination location,
- Track the status of items (in transit, received, etc.),
- Create audit trails for inventory movement.
