NSC | Identifying Whether a Credit Memo Was Created from an Invoice or Cash Sale
Scenario
A user needed to determine whether a Credit Memo in NetSuite was created from an Invoice or from a Cash Sale transaction.
While reviewing Credit Memo records, the user wanted to identify if there was a specific field that stores the source transaction information to easily distinguish how the Credit Memo was generated.
Solution
The source of a Credit Memo can be verified using the Created From field on the Credit Memo record.
A Credit Memo can be created from several transaction types, including:
- Invoice
- Return Authorization
- Customer Refund
Use the Created From field to identify the originating transaction.
