NSC | Prorated Recurring Billing for Contract Terms That Do Not Match Billing Frequency
Scenario
A user needed to manage recurring billing scenarios in NetSuite where contract durations did not align exactly with the billing frequency.
The business wanted to confirm whether NetSuite recurring billing could automatically generate prorated invoices for partial billing periods in situations such as:
- A 25 month contract billed annually
- A 13 month contract billed semiannually
- A 13 month contract billed quarterly
- A 6 week contract billed monthly
The expected outcome was for NetSuite to automatically generate full billing periods followed by a final prorated billing period based on the remaining contract duration.
