Scenario
A user noticed that the Subscription Pricing line showed a quantity of 1, while the Invoice showed quantity 1, rate 150,000.00, and amount 150,000.00.
However, the Revenue Arrangement displayed a quantity of 12. The user wanted to understand why the quantity was not consistent across all three records and how NetSuite determines quantity on Revenue Arrangements.
Explanation
This behavior is expected in SuiteBilling.
The Price Plan only displays pricing information for the item. In this case, the Subscription item is a recurring type that is billed monthly for 12 months. If there is 1 item per month, the full subscription term for 1 year results in a total quantity of 12 items on the Revenue Arrangement.
The Invoice shows a quantity of 1 because the item is billed one month at a time. The Revenue Arrangement, on the other hand, reflects the full subscription term, which is why the quantity appears as 12.
In summary, the difference in quantity values is due to the different purposes of each record:
- Subscription Pricing shows the pricing setup
- Invoice shows the individual billing instance
- Revenue Arrangement shows the full subscription term
