With NetSuite 2026.2, Fixed Assets Management (FAM) introduces new diagnostic capabilities designed to help identify depreciation history records (DHRs) that may affect depreciation processing.
The FAM Diagnostics portlet now includes two new diagnostic processes:
- Check Duplicate DHRs
- Check Stale DHRs
These diagnostics identify affected DHRs that do not have journal entries, giving FAM users an additional way to review potential depreciation issues.
What do these diagnostics identify?
Duplicate DHRs may occur when prior forecast DHRs are not cleared before new forecast DHRs are generated. This can result in duplicate depreciation amounts.
Stale DHRs may occur when forecast DHRs are generated but the related Asset Value records are not updated properly. As a result, the DHRs no longer reflect the related Asset Value record or the current depreciation date.
Reviewing affected DHRs
When NetSuite 2026.2 FAM Diagnostics identifies affected records, you can open the Review Assistant and download a CSV file containing the DHRs selected for deletion.
This provides an opportunity to review the affected records before proceeding with cleanup.
The new diagnostic processes can be:
- Run directly from the FAM Diagnostics portlet
- Scheduled from the FAM System Setup page
For new FAM users, consider capturing screenshots of the FAM Diagnostics portlet and Review Assistant to document the process used in your account.
Asset Reset optimization in NetSuite 2026.2
The NetSuite 2026.2 FAM enhancements also improve Asset Reset cleanup processing.
Previously, accounts with large asset histories could experience delays or errors while old forecast values were being deleted. This could contribute to duplicate or stale depreciation history records.
With the 2026.2 enhancement, FAM processes the cleanup work in smaller batches, helping Asset Reset complete more reliably.
Keep in mind that customizations or invalid Asset Value field data may still affect Asset Reset processing.
Key takeaway
For organizations using Fixed Assets Management, NetSuite 2026.2 provides additional tools for identifying duplicate and stale depreciation history records and improves the reliability of Asset Reset cleanup.
After upgrading to 2026.2, FAM users and administrators should become familiar with the new Check Duplicate DHRs and Check Stale DHRs diagnostic processes and incorporate them into troubleshooting when appropriate.
