NetSuite 2026.2 introduces enhanced audit tracking for bank matching and reconciliation activity. Finance teams can now more easily identify when important reconciliation lifecycle events occurred and who performed them.
With the 2026.2 enhancement, system notes track key matching and reconciliation events on related general ledger transactions. NetSuite also provides additional match and submission details directly on the bank reconciliation pages.
For new NetSuite users, this provides a clearer audit trail when reviewing or investigating reconciliation activity.
What’s New in NetSuite 2026.2?
System Notes for Matching and Reconciliation Activity
In NetSuite 2026.2, system notes track important reconciliation events, including:
- when a transaction was cleared
- when a transaction was submitted for reconciliation
- when a submitted transaction was unmatched
- when a transaction was reconciled or unreconciled
To review these details:
1.Open the related transaction record.
2.Click the System Information subtab.
Note: For Journal Entries, these changes should reflect on the History found on the Lines subtab
3.Review the system notes for the applicable matching or reconciliation activity.
The Reconciliation Status and Date Reconciled fields are also available in transaction searches and specific accounting reports.
Match and Submission Details
NetSuite 2026.2 also makes it easier to identify who performed matching and submission activities.
Navigate to either:
Transactions > Bank > Match Bank Data or Transactions > Bank > Reconcile Account Statement
On the Review tab, check the Matched By and Submitted By columns. These columns indicate whether the action was performed by a user or by the system.
You can also open the match link to review additional information, including the user, date, and time associated with the action.
For submitted matches, you can filter the information to review system-generated matches, user-generated matches, or activity associated with a specific user.
The enhancement also applies to excluded bank transactions. The Excluded tab identifies the user or system action responsible for the exclusion.
Why This 2026.2 Enhancement Matters
Before investigating a reconciliation change, finance teams need to understand both what happened and who performed the action. The additional audit information introduced in NetSuite 2026.2 makes that process easier.
Finance teams and auditors can use the enhanced information to:
- distinguish system-generated matches from user-created matches
- identify who submitted a match for reconciliation
- investigate when transactions were reconciled or unreconciled
- review matching activity after submission
- trace excluded bank transaction activity
- use reconciliation information in transaction searches and applicable reports
For organizations with formal reconciliation controls or audit requirements, these additional details can provide useful context when investigating changes.
