Impact of changing costing preferences for negative stock

Hi,


I wanted to know what would be the impact of changing the costing preferences for negative stock. We have been operating with the costing preference for negative stock as last purchase price. If I change to average cost will this affect historical transactions or is it only going to relate to future transactions. Please advise.
