Custom KPI - Saved Search showing bank debt

I have created a saved search for account number xxx - but the results are simply showing the movement in that current period - I want to be able to show the debt balance this month vs last month. It sounds so simple but I can't see a way of adding cumulative total on a saved search and have that value show in the dashboard. Thoughts?
