Demand Planning with central warehouse location and multiple retail locations

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:22PM in Ask A Guru 3 comments

Hi Gurus,

I recently just started testing Netsuite demand planning and I am confused as to why a demand plan is not calculating properly (just producing 0 quantities) for a central location.

Our scenario is that we do purchasing from a central warehouse location, and then generate transfer orders to transfer stock from warehouse to retail sales locations. Demand plan for retail sales location does produce quantities (as it is based on sales data e.g. customer invoice).

I was expecting that the demand for the warehouse location would be sourced from the transfer orders to retail stores, but does not appear to be the case. Anything I am missing here? I have tried setting 'transactions to consider' to either Orders or Actual Sales but neither seems to work. OR - does the demand calculations just come from retail stores, and then based on the transfer orders created from supply plan - demand plan for warehouse will just take the transfer order qtys into consideration for the quantities to order via POs?

Howdy, Stranger!
