If you ever need to capture user input while providing a native user experience, check out the NetSuite Input Dialog ?? - a utility module that extends NetSuite's N/ui/dialog module with the ability to capture user input! Additionally, it can be configured to automatically persist the captured input to any text field on the form. The best part? It's completely free!
