Suitecommerce - Change from variant selection boxes to drop down

During our suitecommerce implementation with our previous support rep we were told we could easily switch between selection boxes and a dropdown menu for variant selection on items. I am trying to find this option. I do not see it anywhere under our theme options and I do not even see drop down menus on other themes. Was he wrong? Thank you in advance
