What is the best way to merge web store customers with their existing offline accounts?
There are users who place orders on our web store without knowing we have done business with their company before thus creating a duplicate customer record. Currently the way we deal with this is by merging the records together using the offline record as the source so the online record does not lose their log in. But if another user places an order for the same company then we cannot merge these customers without losing the log in for one of them. We have also done it where we merge the records and create the additional user as a contact.
