Inventory Numbers to update

I have 1500  Inventory Numbers to update . I need to add a leading zero (update  41953 to 041953).

What is the best way to do it?

To remove them and then add them again with inventory adjustment or update the inventory Number in the original  inventory adjustment they were added ?
