I am trying to do something that I thought would be relatively straightforward.

We put our products into certain categories.

I have a saved search which shows the sum amount in a month of all that has been invoiced for one of those categories.

I want to display the simple results of that simple search in a simple custom field on a simple custom record. My setup is as the below screenshots. I can see the data in the summary results on the search, but the custom field remains forever empty.

Store value is unchecked.

I have read many many articles and tried many many permutations for getting this to work.
