How to resolve SuiteTax plug-in error "You have entered an Invalid Field Value null for trandate"?

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:31PM in Ask A Guru 6 comments

Hello!

I am in the process of configuring SuiteTax to support Indian Localization. For context, only the Indian subsidiary is subject to taxation. All other subsidiaries (3 others) do not require any taxes to be calculated on their transactions (purchase or sale). After completing the installation and setup for the NetSuite SuiteTax Engine and the Indian SuiteTax Localization, we began receiving a SuiteScript error anytime a vendor bill record was created. Specifically in the US subsidiary:

"Unable to save the transaction due to an error being reported by the tax calculation engine: A User Error Has Occurred: You have entered an Invalid Field Value null for the following field: trandate"

Howdy, Stranger!
