How does Multiple BOM Revisions work with Standard Costing?

Has anyone worked with an assembly/BOM that as a Rev1 and a Rev2 component list using standard cost? use case is the Assembly/BOM is Std Cost and either Rev1 or Rev2 can be used. The rev have different components. Curious how NS std cost would work.
