How can I Access the Accountant Role?

I cannot access my accountant role in NetSuite, even though I can see from my administrator role that I should have access to it. My boss also tried deleting and readding me to the role and nothing worked out. It is not even that I am locked out of the role on my screen; rather it does not show up as an option on my screen.
