Is it possible to filtering and display standard field values in NetSuite?

Recently we came across a requirement like based on a project need to display only the related items in item field on a time tracking record, but currently item list is holding all items as there is no filters applied, we would like to filter this using suitescript on time track record, what are the possible ways to achieve this,
