How to pull Base Price on line item

Hi,

We are creating several price levels and discounts. One of the request is to have a column for base price. I've a custom field created for this -

Transaction line field - List Price (custom)

Type - Currency

Applies to - Sale Item

Validation & Defaulting = Formula - {rate}

Still I don't see the base price in the sales order line level. I do see the column but it is blank. Is there a way to get the base price?
