How to create a Report for Inventory items on hand 0 by day?

I previously asked for something similar in a discussion:

I am trying to do something similar, but with more detail and I do not know where to even begin.
I would like to see the location On Hand and Available inventory level for an item, for every day of the year.
My end goal would be to take this data and compare it to the Item demand Forecast vs Actual report.
I want to be able to hypothize what we potentially lost in sales a grainular level. An item that is out of stock for a month has no history of sales, so the Demand Plan will reflect that we sold nothing, and recomend nothing to order for that period.
