How to add filters to timesheets

Question

Our closed projects show up on an option for timesheets.  Since we have a high volume of projects, we need them not to be an option after the project is closed.  Marking the project "inactive" is not an option as it limits the global search and keeps the projects from showing on reports.

I found an answer from 2008 that suggested adding filters to the timesheets where closed projects would not populate.  How do you add these filters for the timesheet entry?

Hello there! I'm not quite sure about the filter you are referring to; but here's an alternative you can do:

Disable the Allow Time Entry preference in the Project record

-- Edit the Project Record

-- Unmark the Allow time entry check box under the preference tab

-- Save the Project Record

Hello Micah,

I loved the suggestion of using the Allow time entry checkbox on the Project Properties tab. This field can also be added to the Project List View to reveal checked or not for easy review. Often account configuration and global organizational needs affects what will work, so I found a few things in SuiteAnswers that might help. Take a look at these two articles.
