What prerequisites are required for items to be used in supply planning?

I'm trying to generate an item supply plan using DRP but not seeing any items on the subsidiary.

What might I be missing from this? I've added a few items and locations to the distribution network and category.

All of the tutorials start at this step and don't show setting up the items in preparation for it.
