Freemarker in emailtemplate invoice groups

I'm trying to automatically email invoice groups using a workflow. Everything is working fine except one thing. The FreeMarker, which I've added to the selected email template, does not get loaded in the actual email. When I manually send the invoice group using the same template, it does work.

Hopefully, somebody has a solution to this.
