Converting Total to Words (123 to one hundred twenty three) in Custom Field

Good morning,

I am needing to convert the total on Sales Orders to words, in order to put it on my Advanced PDF. I have been following this SuiteAnswer article and this other discussion post, yet I am still receiving a ERROR: Field '‌total' Not Found when looking at my custom field on a Sales Order.

I have the type as free-form text, the store value UNCHECKED, applies to Sale, the Formula box CHECKED, and the formula inputted in default value as below.


Yet still, I am receiving this error, even while looking at the fieldid for the total at the top being {total}:
